Anybody has an idea on how to whiten teeth without going to the dentist? I hear some people says that barking powder and salt can do, is that true?
White teeth?
I would stick to whitening toothpastes. Don't use any of those horrible products:
White Strips do exactly that: STRIP your enamel
Other whitening products are also bad for your teeth.
Baking soda comes in some toothpastes, I'd recommend Colgate with Baking Soda.
Also, you don't want to go rinsing your mouth out with hydrogen peroxide. What if you accidently swallow? It's not supposed to go in your mouth anyway. Good Luck.
Reply:Hydrogen Peroxide works great. Rinse it that couple of times a day. That is what a friend who works at a dentist told me is in the bleaching solution that they give you at the dentist.
Reply:baking soda is the answer
Reply:Baking soda can be used to clean you teeth in leu of toothpaste. Just mix about a quarter teaspoon with a little bit of water to make a paste. Try adding a little peroxide for a little extra disinfectant strength.
I would like to add that you should not brush your teeth exclusively with baking soda if you drink a lot of bottled water. This could lead to a lack of floride and make your teeth sensative, brittle or soft.
If you would like to switch to using baking soda as a toothpaste, drink tap water regularly, or get some floride suppliment to put on your teeth
Reply:Brush your teeth for 5 minutes 4 times a day, using Crest whitening expressions toothpaste for 2 minutes, then using a mixture of baking soda and peroxide for 2 minutes, then use mouth rinse with fluoride for the last minute.
If that doesn't improve your teeth, then continue to do that but also use crest whitening strips.
Here's info on Crest Whitening Strips-

Also, smoking and drinking coffee discolors teeth.
Reply:When teeth become yellowish, rub with hydrogen peroxide (20 Vol.) using 1 part to 7 parts of water.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-teethcare.blogspot.c... tips to have sparkle on your teeth and keep them in good.
Reply:Amazing that you should ask this because I just figured out a very good way to whiten teeth without anything expensive. The trick is in step 2--scraping the plaque off of your teeth is the secret.
1. Be sure to floss really well.
2. Go buy a metal tooth scraper (you can get one at any Walmart--just ask someone if you can't find it) to remove the plaque off of your teeth--this is the same process used by dentists during regular cleanings and checkups!!!
3. After nothing else comes off of your teeth when scraping, (make sure to scrape all sides--and especially the fronts of your teeth because they're the main visible ones) then rinse with a solution of half hydrogen peroxide and half water. (Example: 1oz of water + 1oz hydrogen peroxide = 2oz of rinsing solution.) You should rinse with this solution for at least 30 seconds, preferrably 1 minute. Swish it around like you would mouthwash, but make sure not to swallow any!
4. Brush your teeth with normal toothpaste for at least two minutes and make sure not to miss a spot. (Hard-bristled brushes work the best.)
5. Finally rinse with the hydrogen peroxide solution (from step 3) again for 30 seconds. (You might want to rinse with water after this because this process will make your mouth a little dry. I usually have to drink some water after.)
I don't suggest doing this more than once a week, however after you have done this more than two times you can use straight hydrogen peroxide without any water when rinsing. I guarantee that if you do a good job your teeth with be visibly whiter--usually after the very first time! This process has never failed for me and I have the whitest teeth that I've ever had in my entire life. Good luck!
